Erie Zoo


Situated on 15 acres of land off West 38th street in Glenwood Park is one of the more popular attractions in Erie, PA, the Erie Zoo. The Zoo, home to over 400 animals and a botanical gardens which features 600 species of plants from all across the globe, has been an attraction since 1930. Among the popular animals are the Polar Bears, Lions, Samantha the Gorilla, and Leela, a baby orangutan who turned 5 a couple days ago and is pictured above.

Splash Lagoon


With approximately 80,000 square feet, Splash Lagoon has been a popular indoor waterpark since 2003 and is located on upper Peach Street in Erie, PA. The park features 7 slides, 3 hot tubs, 1 large activity pool, and a seperate children's area. Splash Lagoon also features a very large arcade and a Laser Tag area. The waterpark is connected to 3 hotels, the Holiday Inn Express, Residence Inn, and Comfort Inn.

Erie's Golf Links


With over 25 golf courses in the area, the Erie area is a tremendous place to take a mini golf vacation. The Erie golf courses range from beginner 9-hole par 3 courses, to championship golf courses, such as the golf course found at the Peek 'N Peak resort.

Waldameer Park


Located at the entrance to Presque Isle State Park, just west of Erie, PA, is Waldameer Park and WaterWorld. Since it opened in 1896, the park has long been a favorite of the locals. The park has 75 rides, a water park with slides and raft rides, and many picnic facilities. The main park is freek to get into where there's games, food, and often entertainment. The water park is operated seperately and is admission by fee only.

Opening in a few days is the long awaited new roller coaster, the Ravine Flyer II. Other rides include the X-Scream (a 140 tower drop), the Sea Dragon, and Thunder River.

Presque Isle

Presque Isle is a state park just west of Erie, PA. The picture above shows a historic lighthouse on the park. The park includes 9 miles of beaches.

The GE plant in Erie, PA is GE Transportation Systems, formerly known as GE rail. The plant is one of the largest manufacturers of equipment for the railroad industries, including locomotives.

Erie Pa


Situated on one of the Great Lakes, Lake Erie, Erie, PA is a working class city with a population of 105,000 and a metro population of 280,000. The city was named after Lake Erie and for the Native American tribe that resided along its southern shore.
